St. Nicholas Primary School Broxburn, West Lothian

Our team designed this extension of an existing school to provide two new classrooms, toilets, changing rooms and a new plant room. A new assembly hall was also designed with flexibility for community use and with new services, IT and audio-visual facilities. The sustainability strategy for the project involves low-carbon technologies including an air-source heat-pump which supplies the underfloor heating. Works were phased and fast-tracked to provide the classrooms and activity areas for the start of the school term, while the rest of the construction was coordinated (in close liaison with the school staff) to take place in a live school environment.
